Based on each student’s initial Lexile assessment and end-of-year goals, BeableIQ pinpoints the gap that needs to be closed. And it identifies the optimal level and frequency of reading sessions required to reach goals for both Annual Lexile Growth as well as Catch-Up Growth. It additionally determines the extent and type of scaffolding or Companion Courses that are needed for students to acquire the expected knowledge in their academic courses.
Automatically prescribes sessions and Companion Courses
Always allowing for complete administrator and teacher control, BeableIQ then prescribes just-right reading sessions and scaffolds. For example, an on grade-level student would receive two classroom sessions per week and no Companion Courses – exactly what she needs for expected Annual Growth aligned with her graduation and career goal. A below grade-level student, however, would be prescribed two classroom sessions per week for Annual Growth, an additional two pull-out or out-of-school sessions per week for Catch-Up Growth and both vocabulary and content-area knowledge Companion Courses – the scaffolds students need to be successful in an academic lesson while also addressing skills gaps they may have.

Beable applies the right combination of differentiation, individualization and personalization so that each student has a truly and finely tailored learning path reflective and respectful of starting points, end goals and a student’s interests and aspirations. Differentiation in particular is also applied to grade-level content acquisition (10 Lexile levels in English and Spanish) and to ACT/SAT prep, which is integrated in the Beable system.
